Confess your sins...

I have never been one to reach out to people when I am hurting or struggling though I would be one of the first people to tell someone who is hurting or struggling to 'call me' if I knew they needed support. I have always pretty much been reclusive, drawing away from people. I didn't want to drag them down with my problems or worse, with my thoughts. But the last couple of years there has been times when it felt too much to carry the load myself and I would have two choices, die or seek a friend out in desperation, if only to just for them to listen. Sometimes the thoughts can get so consuming that just putting them 'out there' helps to lessen the load.
That is what happened this week. It was just too much to carry around. My head was about to explode along with my heart. First I e-mailed a dear friend who responded with words of encouragement and promise of prayer (and I know she will) then I reached out to our pastor because I needed help with other aspects of my issues. What a God-send these two were and are. Today my mind feels lighter. The problems are not gone but the spirit is not as heavy. I know for a fact it's because the 'saints' are praying. I have confessed my shortcomings, my fleshly 'problems' and now they are praying.
Reach to someone today. Someone who you know you can trust and who loves the Lord. Go to them and confess your 'sins,' be it fear, worry, anger, bitterness....whatever and then let them pray with you, over you, for you! The load in this life is heavy, don't carry it alone. Yoke up with another believer.

James 5:16 (NIV)
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

Amen sister! I couldn't have said it better myself. It's good to have friend who listen.
