Are these your kids?

http://www.nwae.org/children.html As some of you know every so often I post about 'Northwest Adoption Exchange.' T his week it is heavy on my heart again. This website has kids listed who are in Oregon, Washington, Alaska, or Idaho who are in need of a home. A loving, stable, and permanent home. There are so many kids needing a home, a new family to call their own. They have been in state foster care for way TOO long. Take a look at the faces, read their bio's and see if the Lord would spark YOUR heart to do something. There are children all through the states needing homes, check out your local Government agency and see if your future daughters and sons are there waiting for you. Here are just a few of their beautiful faces...check out the website. Blessings on you.

Today at church we were blessed once again to hear Christian Holst speak. What a blessed and gifted man he is. I just love him and his lovely wife Kate. This time we were also able to meet their new daughter Brenda who was just recently adopted (and what a testimony that was) from Uganda. She is a beauty. They are partners in a ministry called 'For His Glory.' Check out the video testimonies on their website. Be blessed http://www.forhisglorymin.org/media.html

Lord Save Me

Some days, some weeks it just seems the storms are brewing. You can feel the dampness in the air, see the clouds rolling by and sometimes hear the sound of distant thunder but you are just never quite sure when that storm is going to hit. That is how I am feeling this week. It's the calm before the storm feeling. Watching the clouds get darker and seeing them pass overhead. I know the Lord is here and I know he knows what is ahead. So much going on in this world, in this country, in this home. Just whirling wind.....that's all it is. Matthew 14:29b Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out "Lord Save Me." Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" And when they climbed back into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you

A GREAT day in history

Image
This day 71 years ago a beautiful and wonderful thing happened. A baby girl was born in Webb City Missouri to Harlan and Evelyn Cole. A baby girl who would grow in grace and beauty. She would become one of the greatest people to ever walk this earth. This woman, this mother, this grandmother, this great-grand mother is Deanna Rose M. I am one of the few fortunate enough to call her 'Mom.' Not many women are as beautiful as her. She shines with kindness and love. She has tremendous patience, unconditional love, and her generosity abounds. She is a rare treasure indeed. My mom married and had her first child at the age of 14...FOURTEEN?!?!?! Only a child herself, she then went on to have 5 more children and has been married for 55+ years. She gave all her children a great life. Though we were poor at many times through our history, we never knew want. We always had what we needed. Clothing, food, a clean home and above all a loving mother. Even as her adult children made bad choi

Confess your sins...

I have never been one to reach out to people when I am hurting or struggling though I would be one of the first people to tell someone who is hurting or struggling to 'call me' if I knew they needed support. I have always pretty much been reclusive, drawing away from people. I didn't want to drag them down with my problems or worse, with my thoughts. But the last couple of years there has been times when it felt too much to carry the load myself and I would have two choices, die or seek a friend out in desperation, if only to just for them to listen. Sometimes the thoughts can get so consuming that just putting them 'out there' helps to lessen the load. That is what happened this week. It was just too much to carry around. My head was about to explode along with my heart. First I e-mailed a dear friend who responded with words of encouragement and promise of prayer (and I know she will) then I reached out to our pastor because I needed help with other aspects of my

"I have given you authority.....

Luke 10:19 (NIV) "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you." This is the 'truth' the Lord has laid on my heart this week. This week has been soooo difficult. Marital trials, financial burdens, and worry about all my children has taken a toll on this beyond middle age mother to 6 (currently). I know it's because of lack of sleep that all of this has been nearly impossible to deal with. I truly felt it was going to be the end of me this week. I thought my body was just going to give in and go to sleep and never wake up. But God had different plans. He gave me some grown up time away from the little ones for a few hours and then he added an extra couple of hours of uninterrupted sleep and today....I feel like a warrior again. I feel I can stand back up strong in the battle again. In Numbers 21:4-9 'Israel' begins to whine and complain about hunger and thirst...bread from he
